The Lyrichord Early and Classsical Show Podcast

RSS feed for the Podcasts

Lyrichord introduces a new series of internet podcast programs about the history, development and performance of early and classical music and instruments, illustrated by music from the Lyrichord Early Music Series and the Lyrichord Classical labels. Lyrichord president Nick Fritsch hosts the show, and the co-host is the noted American countertenor, Jeffrey Dooley. In this series, Fritsch and Dooley discuss such wide ranging topics as the history and development of keyboard instruments, the history of the countertenor, the history of instruments such as the recorder and baroque flute, the “revival” harpsichords of the early twentieth century, the baroque period in music, and many other topics. Each show is between 42 and 48 minutes in length, and where the subject demands deeper investigation, the topic may extend to multiple shows in parts. Dozens of full tracks from the Lyrichord catalogs are played and referenced. The series is available for subscription at iTunes and through our RSS feed, and can also be heard streaming here at Lyrichord.com. A new episode is added each week. Stay tuned!
