Mozart left for posterity a large and impressive collection of magnificent choral compositions, most of them written during his Salzburg years. The exuberant, triumphant, and sublime Regina Coeli, (K. 276), three gorgeous sacred works — Coronation Mass, (K. 317), Missa Brevis, (K. 220) and Litaniae Lauretanaem, (K. 109) are featured, as well as other Mozart choral favorites such as his Ave Maria (K. 555) and Ave Verum Corpus (K. 618) — likely the best known and most loved of Mozart's liturgical pieces.
Johannes Somary's discography claims over fifty recordings, including four Stereo Review Record-of-the-Year Awards. He has conducted such ensembles as the English Chamber Orchestra, New Orleans Symphony, and London's Royal Philharmonic.
Stephen Fox founded Musica Antiqua St. Petersburg as Russia's first period instrument orchestra in 2001. It comprises Russia's leading specialists in the Baroque and Classical styles.
